DEITY SUPERVILLAIN Flat Pedal
Overall Review
D eity’s TMAC pedal has been around for quite a few years by now, and in that time it has become widely recognized as one of the leading options on the market. Case in point, it has been holding down a podium position in our long-standing flat pedal face off ever since it was first published in 2016. Building on the legacy of such a successful product is always a daunting task, but that didn’t deter Deity from looking for ways to make it even better. The result is called the Supervillain, and it

Nukeproof Horizon V2 Wheels
The Good
- The Nukeproofs rolled fast, at least compared to my previous Race Face Turbine R wheelset with the Vault hubs.
- Not as heavy as you might suspect. The front wheel weighed in at 912 grams at the bike shop. Couldn't weigh the rear as the shop had installed the cassette before I thought about weighing it.
- Laterally stiff, vertically compliant. Yeah, you've heard that before. My hands tell me that the front is a bit softer than the Crankbrothers Enduro wheel, even though the Horizons have 32 spokes as opposed to 28.
- Fast and solid engagement. It feels just as fast as the Vault hubs without any of the skipping that I experienced with the Turbine R wheelset.
- Durable. No need for truing after four years. I can't say that about the i9 Enduro wheels. Finish is durable, too!
- Price, especially with their bundle with inserts.
The Bad
The valve cap is supposed to double as a valve core remover. It worked fine until it got stuck in the valve core. I went back to using a dedicated valve core remover.
Overall Review
I liked it so much that I bought another set for another bike from Chain Reaction before it went out of business. Unless someone somewhere comes up with a better, stronger, or lighter wheelset, I will continue to have the Nukeproofs on two of my bikes.

REVIEW - The Updated 2024 Yeti SB165
Overall Review
The Yeti SB Lineup has morphed into a new generation of bikes over the last two years, with some models switching over to 29-inch wheels and others popping up in 27.5-inch variants. There are revisions to frame construction, suspension kinematics, and size-specific geometry across all models. With the latest iteration of the SB165 being teased over the last couple of months, it was no surprise that it has undergone the same treatment. Created initially as the dual-27.5-inch option for the wildly

The Good
Geometry, part spec
The Bad
Wheels/hubs, price/value
Overall Review
Long-ish travel, 430mm chainstays, and a lot of laps of any trail you want. One of the last fun mountain bikes and sad to think it will disappear with the dissolution of Kona. That said, it was arguably one iteration too far on the modern geometry for Kona's loyal fanbase and worse yet the price per spec was becoming harder and harder to justify, even post-covid and during the sales. Luckily, I got the Shimano spec of this bike but sadly... The wheelset is I guess about as low end a boost

First Ride: BikeYoke Revive Three
Overall Review
With an impeccable track record and oft-praised performance, the BikeYoke Revive is widely considered as the best dropper post that money can buy. Vital’s own testing confirms this, as we placed it at the top of the heap in our big dropper post shootout a few years ago. Not one for big marketing statements, BikeYoke has just released the third iteration of the Revive, with a number of small modifications that aim to improve things that could be improved without making any design changes where

2023 Mondraker Crafty Carbon XR E-Bike
The Good
Ohlins is amazing now
Bosch system Fit and finish.
Handling and stability
Warranty
The Bad
Stock Stem and seat post collar seemed to be machined to large
Factory dropper lever.
Battery spacer maybe to thick from the factory.
Overall Review
The Mondraker Crafty xr is an amazing beast. Long fast and very stable. The Bosch system is tops of all the others. The Ohlin's suspension feels amazing once dialed in. you fill need to order spacers for the rear shock none are included. the list of cons may seem long but they are very small and easily fixed. The seat post collar and stem seem to be machined a few mm to larger. no matter the torque or amount of fiber grip both would slip. replacements fixed the issue instantly. The Factory

2022 Specialized Turbo Levo S-Works E-Bike
S3 S Works Levo
The Good
MX setup up makes for a easier to flick bike.
Easy motor tuning with app.
Tunable suspension.
The Bad
Rear Tire needs a thicker casing.
Brakes are great but always howling.
Overall Review
Over all this is one of the best e-bikes I've ridden. The brose System is on par with the best of bosch with a slight nod to bosch with a more powerful feel. Only upgrade needed is to the tire casing needs a dh casing or an insert in the rear at least. Magura breaks feel amazing but always howl no matter the bleed, or setup. Bike feels way lighter than its weight.

2022 Transition Repeater Carbon NX E-Bike
The Good
Bought this bike at the height of E-Bike prices. $8K w tax and shipping for a NX bike? It's my first E-Bike and it killed my Evil Wreckoning, which now hangs in the garage devalueing itself on the daily.
The Bad
NX build sucks. I should of bought the GX or the better build. Since I bought the bike, I've changed EVERY thing on the bike except the seatpost and frame. New...EVERYTHING. That ain't cheap.
Overall Review
Honestly, the only thing I would of done different in buying this bike is to buy it sooner and to buy the better bike. Like I said, I've changed everything. Carbon wheels, X01 drivetrain, One Up Carbon bars, 45 stem, dampener and MRP in the fork, new MRP coil in the rear, Saint brakes and 220 rotors. 2,000 miles on the EP8 engine and no (knock on wood) error codes. I love how this rides and to me, it rides WAY better than my Evil Wrecker. In my dream world, this bike would have a Bosch motor and
