The last semi-finals of 2024 (and possibly ever?) happened at the Mont-Sainte-Anne World Cup Downhill today narrowing down Elite fields for tomorrow's race. As the last race of the season, semi-finals do not contribute any points towards a World Cup overall result, so many protected riders were playing it safe with their free ticket to the show. Since protected riders crossed the beam to get a start result or just cruised the track, this opened up the door for non-protected riders to squeak in with a decent result.
